How Dripos doubled down on multi-products
A vertical | vertical end-to-end operating system with multi-products; the evolution of vertical SaaS!
Dripos https://www.dripos.com/ is a great example of the evolution of vertical SaaS. Jack and team are laser focused on building the best software for coffee shops and determined early on that multi-products were a key part of the strategy.
Like many founders, Jack and team saw an opportunity through their own experience. Unlike a Starbucks which has an efficient customer process, a local coffee shop could receive orders at the register vs. online and in general, your local coffee shop may not even have a website. They had a POS, but it was not tailored to their business. That was the genesis of Dripos, building a hyper focused solution for coffee shops.
Dripos thinks of product in two categories 1. Core and 2. Add-on.
1. Core includes the order system (POS, online ordering, self service kiosk, menu management, etc.), teams (scheduling, timeclock, messaging, etc.) and marketing (email, SMS, loyalty, etc.).
2. Add-on includes embedded payments, embedded payroll, embedded accounting, business insurance, branded app, delivery, etc.
The combination of core + add-on creates a powerful end to end operating system for coffee shops and helps to significantly increase the ACV/customer when the coffee shop is adopting all solutions. This is the key factor vs. 10 years ago (2015). VSaaS companies can hyper focus on a vertical that traditionally was thought as 'too small' because they can end up with high ACV, solid GRR, and great NRR; all with a good TAM/SAM to go after.
There are so many more valuable solutions that Driops can build in the future. For example, why couldn't all coffee shops track all the beans they source, procure at the optimal time to brew the best cup of coffee? There are also some interesting adjacents to coffee shops, so lots of room to grow!
